About Us — Paradise Gardens Café
Hello Friends! My name is Jennie and I created Paradise Gardens Café as a passion project to do one thing: fund mental health care for those experiencing Mental health crisis and Serious Mental illness. We are a mission-driven brand, powered by purpose and designed to create real change in a hurting world.
Our clothing, art, and storytelling directly support the creation of Falling Waters Recovery Center — a first-of-its-kind mental health facility that will offer:

24/7 emergency crisis stabilization for individuals experiencing psychiatric crisis or suicidal ideation

Inpatient mental health beds with compassionate, trauma-informed care

Long-term treatment programs, classes and support groups focused on severe mental illness, particularly among the veteran population.

Family support, psychoeducation, and reintegration services

Partnerships with VA social workers, police, probation, and community services, all under one roof
This is not just a clothing line — it’s a life raft disguised as beauty. Paradise Gardens Café is how we raise the funds we need to provide care without compromising, cutting corners for staff or services, or waiting on gatekeepers to “approve” what we know is urgently needed.
The passion behind Paradise Gardens was born from personal devastation. Founder Jennie Matthews has spent years fighting to keep her son Jeremy alive — battling psychosis, addiction, traumatic brain injury, and legal troubles in a system that has repeatedly slammed the door in our face. This project is our answer to all of it: a way to transform grief into light, isolation into community, and pain into purpose.
We are here to build a new model of care. And we’re doing it not just for ourselves — but for the thousands of people like Jeremy still lost in the dark.

Our Story
About Us — Jennie & Jeremy
We are a mother and son who refused to give up.
For years, we’ve walked through the fire together — navigating severe mental illness, traumatic brain injuries, addiction, isolation, and the devastation of being failed by every system meant to help. What tried to break us became the blueprint for a revolution in healing.
Jennie is an advocate, artist, and mother who has spent everything — time, money, and heart — to keep Jeremy alive sober and out of prison. They are survivors, a truth-tellers, and a force of resilience who continues to rise through unimaginable challenges.
Together, we are building Falling Waters Recovery Center, a facility designed to treat what others overlook: neuropsychiatric complexity, co-occurring disorders, and the deep wounds of trauma. Through our sister project, Paradise Gardens Café, we are able to raise the funds by turning our story into wearable art and purpose-driven fashion.
This is not just about us. This is about everyone who’s ever felt forgotten, alone and afraid in crisis.
